These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your participation in the Cwtch early access test (“Test”). Please read them carefully before using Cwtch.
By joining the Test, creating an account or using Cwtch, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. About Cwtch
Cwtch is operated by CWTCH Innovations Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales under company number 17488925, with its registered office at Forest Lodge, Forest Road, Pyrford, Surrey, GU22 8NA (“Cwtch”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
Cwtch is an early-stage product designed to help couples reflect on and invest in their relationship. It uses technology, including artificial intelligence, informed by relationship science and psychological models to provide personalised experiences, activities, conversations and reflections.
Cwtch is intended to provide relationship support and education. Cwtch is not therapy, counselling, medical care, mental-health treatment or a substitute for professional advice.
The version of Cwtch available during the Test is an early version of the product and may contain bugs, errors, incomplete features or other limitations. Features may change during or after the Test.
2. The Early Access Test
The Test is intended to help us understand how people naturally use Cwtch, how useful they find it, and how it might be improved.
If you take part, we may ask you to:
- use Cwtch over the Test period in whatever way feels useful to you;
- complete a short questionnaire before and/or after using Cwtch;
- provide feedback about your experience; and
- tell us about how you found using Cwtch, including what you liked, what you found confusing and what you would change.
Participation is voluntary. You may stop using Cwtch at any time.
There is no expectation that you will use Cwtch in a particular way or achieve any particular outcome from taking part.
3. Eligibility
You must be aged 18 or over to participate in the Test.
If you participate as part of a couple, each person should create and use their own account where Cwtch provides separate accounts.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide when creating your account is accurate.
4. Your Cwtch account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity carried out through your account.
You should contact us promptly if you believe that your account has been accessed without your permission.
You must not allow another person to use your account without permission or create an account using another person's identity.
5. Using Cwtch as a couple
Cwtch may allow you and your partner to participate in shared activities and experiences.
Where Cwtch provides features or information intended to be private to you, that information will not be made available to your partner through Cwtch.
You must not attempt to access, obtain or disclose information belonging to your partner that Cwtch has designated as private.
Please remember that you are responsible for anything you choose to share directly with your partner outside of Cwtch.
6. Relationship support and important limitations
Cwtch is designed to support reflection, communication and positive relationship habits.
Cwtch does not:
- diagnose mental-health conditions;
- diagnose relationship conditions;
- provide medical or psychiatric advice;
- replace a qualified therapist, counsellor, doctor or other professional;
- determine whether you should remain in or leave a relationship;
- guarantee any particular relationship outcome; or
- provide emergency or crisis services.
If you are experiencing serious distress, are concerned about your safety, or believe that you or someone else may be at risk of harm, you should seek appropriate professional or emergency support rather than relying on Cwtch.
7. AI-generated content
Cwtch uses artificial intelligence and related technologies to provide personalised experiences and responses.
AI-generated content may sometimes be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate or unsuitable for your particular circumstances.
You should use your own judgement when considering information provided by Cwtch. You should not treat an AI-generated response as a professional diagnosis, clinical assessment or definitive judgement about you, your partner or your relationship.
Cwtch is an early-stage product and we are continuing to improve its quality, reliability and safety. We cannot guarantee that every AI-generated response will be accurate or appropriate.
8. Test data and product improvement
As part of the Test, we may collect information about how participants use Cwtch, such as which features they use and how frequently they engage with them. We use this information to understand how Cwtch is being used and to improve the product.
We may also collect and use feedback that you choose to provide about your experience of Cwtch.
This is an early version of Cwtch. Authorised members of our team may access content where reasonably necessary to test, troubleshoot, improve or keep the product safe.
We will not use private conversations or other content you enter into Cwtch to identify you to your partner or make that content available to your partner through Cwtch.
Your personal information and any content you provide to Cwtch will otherwise be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, the circumstances in which we may share it, how long we retain it and your rights.
Nothing in these Terms prevents us from processing information where this is necessary to provide, secure, maintain or operate Cwtch, or where we are otherwise required or permitted to do so by law. Details of this processing are set out in our Privacy Policy.
9. Your content
You retain ownership of information, messages, responses and other content that you submit to Cwtch (“Your Content”), subject to the rights described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
We process Your Content as necessary to provide and operate Cwtch and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We will not publicly publish identifiable private relationship conversations.
10. Feedback
We welcome honest feedback about your experience of Cwtch.
If you provide suggestions, comments, ideas or other feedback about Cwtch (“Feedback”), you agree that we may use that Feedback to improve, develop and test Cwtch without owing you payment or other compensation.
Where we share feedback publicly, we will not identify you.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Cwtch:
- unlawfully or fraudulently;
- to impersonate another person;
- to attempt to access another user's private information;
- to interfere with the operation or security of Cwtch;
- to introduce malicious software or code;
- to attempt to circumvent security or access controls;
- to use Cwtch to harass, threaten or abuse another person;
- to deliberately manipulate or misuse Cwtch's relationship features; or
- in any way that could reasonably put another person at risk.
We may restrict or suspend access where we reasonably believe that the Service is being misused or that doing so is necessary to protect users, Cwtch or others.
12. Intellectual property
Cwtch and its licensors own all rights in the Service, including its software, design, branding, relationship frameworks, content, text, graphics, interfaces and underlying technology, except for Your Content and third-party materials.
You may use Cwtch for your personal, non-commercial use during the Test in accordance with these Terms.
You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, commercially exploit or create derivative works from Cwtch except where permitted by law or with our written permission.
13. Availability and changes to Cwtch
Cwtch is an early-stage product and may not always be available or function without errors.
Cwtch may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical failures, security incidents or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may change, pause or discontinue features during or after the Test.
We do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available or that Cwtch will continue to be made available after the Test.
14. Suspension and ending your participation
You may stop using Cwtch and leave the Test at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Test where reasonably necessary to:
- comply with the law;
- protect users or others;
- address serious security or safety concerns;
- prevent fraud or misuse; or
- enforce these Terms.
Where appropriate, we will provide notice before terminating access.
15. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, the circumstances in which we may share it, how long we retain it and your rights.
16. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Cwtch is not responsible for decisions, actions or choices made by you or your partner as a result of using Cwtch, including decisions relating to your relationship, unless that liability arises from something for which we are legally responsible.
You remain responsible for exercising your own judgement when using Cwtch and should not rely on Cwtch as a substitute for professional advice.
Subject to the above, Cwtch will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you entered into these Terms or for matters outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

We will aim to investigate complaints fairly and promptly.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Where changes are material, we will provide appropriate notice.
The latest version will be made available through Cwtch.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in another part of the UK where applicable.
